Savannah can tempt hotels into leaning too hard on period charm. What makes Andaz interesting is that it feels sophisticated without becoming overly theatrical.
Savannah can tempt hotels into leaning too hard on period charm. What makes Andaz Savannah interesting is that it feels sophisticated without becoming overly theatrical.
Set on Ellis Square in the Historic District, just a block from City Market and within walking distance of the Telfair Academy and Savannah Theater, the hotel looks extremely well positioned for travelers who want to live inside the city rather than commute into it.
Why I’d Consider It
I like the balance here: historic-district location, modern boutique-leaning tone, and enough polish to make the stay feel elevated without becoming formal. That can be a very attractive combination in Savannah.
Free Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, air conditioning, accessibility features, and the option of breakfast and parking keep the stay functional, even if some conveniences come at downtown prices.
My Take
If I wanted a stylish Savannah base that kept me close to the city’s most walkable core, Andaz would be high on my list.
Bottom line: I’d choose it for a Historic District stay where location, design, and a more relaxed form of upscale hospitality all matter.
